the new book

I posted the title reveal of my second book on Twitter & Facebook last week, but in case you missed it, here’s what it’s called:

It’ll be published in a year, which is a long time but also very little, considering The Accident Season was published less than a year ago itself. Spellbook of the Lost & Found will be similar in feel: a magic realism standalone set in the West of Ireland. It has poteen & tattoos & diaries & rusty keys & a lot of cycling down country lanes & writing it has been a wild ride so far. It took me a long time to fall in love with it but I’m in deep now & I can hardly wait a whole year for it to be out in the world.

In the meantime, though, there is this picture, which I took with my phone on my front room table with objects found around the house. A lot of them of narratively important, some are personal treasures & a couple are mysteries. (Bonus points for anyone who can name each item.) Scraps & objects. That’s what it’s all about.
